Our approach

Medicine.info.bd organises medicine and pharmaceutical information into a structured, searchable reference platform focused on Bangladesh.

Our aim is to present information clearly and consistently while preserving important distinctions between medicine brands, generic ingredients, strengths, dosage forms, manufacturers and related reference information.

Data collection and organisation

Information in the database may be compiled and structured from publicly available medicine, pharmaceutical, manufacturer and related reference sources.

Collected information may be normalised so that records can be searched and connected consistently across the platform. This can include standardising names, linking medicine brands with generic records and organising information by manufacturer, dosage form, drug class or indication.

Clinical and medicine information

Where clinical or medicine-reference information is displayed, it is provided for general informational and educational use. We aim to preserve the meaning of source information while presenting it in a format suitable for reference and search.

Medicine information can change, and different products containing similar ingredients may have different approved information. Important clinical decisions should therefore be verified against current official product information and appropriate professional sources.

Updates and quality checks

We use database checks and structured processing to identify issues such as missing relationships, inconsistent records and other data-quality problems. Information may be corrected, updated or reorganised as new information becomes available or errors are identified.

The presence of information on Medicine.info.bd does not guarantee that a medicine is currently available, suitable for a particular patient or approved for every use described in general reference material.

Independence and commercial content

Reference information should remain distinguishable from advertising, sponsorship or other commercial material. If sponsored or promotional content is introduced on the platform, our aim is to identify it appropriately so users can distinguish it from general reference content.

Data rights and reuse

The fact that information is publicly accessible does not necessarily mean that every underlying source, dataset, document or compilation is available for unrestricted commercial reuse or redistribution.

Medicine.info.bd reviews data provenance and usage rights separately from the technical process of collecting and organising information. Access to future data services or APIs does not automatically transfer rights in third-party source material.
